our first thanksgiving.

our first time hosting thanksgiving went off without a hitch!

we didn't want to stress the day of so we made sure we were prepared the day before. tater stopped by pike place market on her way home for some insanely gorgeous flowers for the center pieces. they went perfectly in conjunction with our mini pumpkin place cards, wood slats and floral votives.

the food was divine, the drinks were flowing and the company was even better. all in all it was the most perfect day. our family now thinks this is going to be a new tradition {we'll have to see about that}.

fall garland {nordstrom} / mini led lights {pier 1 imports} / chalk banner {michaels}

{tip: find an old frame at a thrift store and spray with chalkboard paint!}
cloth napkins {ikea} / name tags {nordstrom rack} / recycled wine bottles

{what we made/ate}

{homemade cranberries / mixed salad / brussel sprouts-see recipe below}
{cranberry gorgonzola brussel sprouts recipe
{classic green bean casserole}
{our pride & joy - the turkey}
the boys one and only job was the turkey and oh boy did they succeed. they seasoned it before hand and smoked it on the gas grill for 4 hours until it was perfectly crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth good on the inside. if you haven't tried to bbq a turkey before, we suggest you do!
{ bourbon apple pot pies} jenna's mom made these and they were to die for!

{homemade pecan and apple pies} / {plates: nordstrom}

{what we drank}
{fireball apple cider...duh / whiskey bourbon bar}
{wine...duh} / bar cart {target}

hope you all had an AMAZING thanksgiving with your friends and family. we are so grateful for all of you.
