the amalfi coast: capri.

capri was by far my favorite part of the honeymoon. i had always heard of this dreamy italian island off the coast that all the celebrities went in search of peace and quiet. now i see why.

we took the ferry from sorrento to capri and even just the ferry ride was beautiful. most people who go to capri ferry there for just the day, which is why the ferry's and port are so crowded. but once 6pm rolls around everyone starts to head back across the water and the island because perfectly quaint and peaceful. from the port, you take a tram up a very steep hill to the top of capri where the piazza overlooks the entire coast line. once up top we had about another 10 minute walk to our secluded hotel, which was absolutley gorgeous. our room had a plush king sized bed and a view overlooking the water and mountain side. as soon as we got there we dropped off our bags and headed to the fresh water pool where we sipped on rose and ate panini's pool side.

our first night we took the bus up to ani capri {if you are afraid of heights, this is not for you} where the bus' literally zig and zag up another few hundred feet coasting too close to comfort to the side rails. but once you are at the top the view is well worth it. we had dinner at this darling restaurant at sunset with extremely good food and even better wine.

{what i wore our first night in capri}

{shirt {old}, great options here and here // pants another option here // clutch {sold out} love this option here // earrings}

the next day we did a private 3 hour boat tour through the island. i had seen pictures of the grotto's and knew that was the one thing i was most excited about seeing, but little did i know i would get to swim through them! our driver salvatore was an awesome guy who knew everything about the island and eve packed a cooler full of beer, wine and snacks. we sailed around the aqua colored seas for 3 hours stopping to jump in the water and relaxing on the bow of the boat.

that night we had some of the best pizza the entire trip and drank even more wine {umm, how can you not drink wine when you are in italy}.

{this picture doesn't even begin to do justice to how beautiful the color of the water was}

{he said we had to kiss going through the arches!}

{the shops in capri were all designer or diamonds...if only}

we only stayed 2 nights but had the entire next day to go for a little hike and enjoy the pool for a few hours before we headed off to positano. i could have stayed one more night there, it was just so serene.

stayed tuned to find out about our next stop on the amalfi coast in next weeks post. you may also like the amalfi coast: sorrento or 24 hours in paris
