yet another leather.

fall is quickly approaching so it's that time to start adding to my collection of jackets. especially black faux leather jackets. and a moto one at that.

we all know i can't have enough black leather jackets and i'm pretty sure my count is at five. but i swear they are all different!

but when you find one for under forty bucks you really can't pass it up. so i didn't.

tee shirt dress.

this dress is soft, sexy and insanely easy to throw on for a day at work, out for brunch or even a night on the town. it fits like your most favorite tee shirt and is just the right length. yes, it's very simple, but i just love the detail in the back and it can be accessorized with a hat, jewels or even layered with a sweater. the possibilities are endless with this one.

happy friday! hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

for the love of kimonos.

it's no surprise that we love a good kimono. they are super easy to wear and are perfect for any body type. throw them over a dress or tank and it adds that extra oomph without all the bulkiness.

i found this kimono on hautelook and it was under twenty bucks so naturally i bought three different designs. as for the flare jeans they are on their way back and these j brands are super comfy! i purchased these during the nordstrom anniversary sale, so unfortunately they are sold out everywhere online but so many different brands are coming out with flares that they are easy to find!

how to get beach waves.

we get a lot of comments on our beach waves so we thought we would share a little tutorial with you all! if you have longer hair, this may take you a bit longer, but we promise it won't disappoint and our trick may surprise you!

step 1. invest in a curling wand {we love them much better than curling irons because of the waves they create}.

step 2: separate hair into sections. make sure your hair is straight before you use the wand. if you have naturally wavy hair, then run a straightening iron through it first. i know, seems crazy, but for some reason the wand works better with straight hair and helps eliminate any unwanted frizz. {it's best if your hair is washed the previous day, but it will still work if it's freshly washed}.

step 3: on the left side of your hair, hold the wand pointed down and curl the hair around the wand working towards your face. only hold for 3-4 seconds {it can burn your hair if it gets too hot, so be careful}.

step 4: let go of the wave and pull down on it to create more of a wave, than bouncy curl. repeat until entire hair is done, lightly hair spray and go! side note: on the right side make sure to use your left hand to wrap curls around so you can hold with your right {being that your right handed} and wrap away from your face with the wand still pointed down.

the best part about this can be entered to win a FREE curling wand from Nume Products, valued at $149 by entering our giveaway on instagram! deets are below.

hope you all have a great weekend!!!

chi town.

this past weekend i was lucky enough to travel to chicago for my cousins bachelorette party and it was amazing!

if you have never been you have to add it to your list of places to visit. it actually reminded me a lot of seattle just on a bigger scale. they have the best food. cute little neighborhoods. a river that flows through downtown. amazing shopping. beautiful buildings and a ton of history.

there was twelve of us girls and we stayed in the cutest little brick brownstone. the MOH did the best job planning our entire weekend. we had goodie bags when we arrived with matching shirts that we wore to the beach. the house was decorated so cute and even had a photo booth with props for us to take endless pictures with!

we did an architecture tour {this is an absolute must when you visit chicago} where we learned all about the amazing history of some of the oldest buildings along the river and downtown. after the tour we made our way to millennium park and took obligatory selfies in front of the bean. we then walked along michigan ave where all of the best shopping is and had brunch on rush street {again rush street is another must when visiting}

it was also fleet week while we were there, so on saturday we posted up at a beach bar all in our matching shirts and watched the blue angels put on an incredible show and swam in lake michigan.

it was super hot and humid {typical midwest weather} but we all had the best time and i cant wait to celebrate her in a month on her big day!

but until then its detox time...

{waiting to board the plane = drink mimosas}

{our goodie bag for the weekend}
{we had brunch at the cutest restaurant on rush street downtown - there are known for their pineapple vodka and let me tell you it was amazing!}

{cute little outdoor restaurants all along the river}
{a trip to chicago isn't complete without a picture in front of the bean!}

{selfie with my cousin in front of the bean!}

{beach bar for the air + water show}
{it was fleet week in chicago so we got to watch the blue angels put on their show}
{in the middle of taking a picture my phone vibrated and did this to the picture!}

{of course there was fireball involved - duh}
