lake chelan.

i had only been to chelan once before and it was not the best experience {i don't camp well and i especially don't camp well in the rain. you get the picture}. but this time was a completely different experience, and instead of camping we stayed at a resort & spa ;) not only was i so excited to get away for the weekend to the country side, but celebrating your one year wedding anniversary brings up so many emotions and i couldn't help but have a smile on my face the whole time as i re-lived each moment of our prefect day in my head. we've only been married a year, but together 11 years, and i can honestly say that he still makes me the happiest girl on the planet even after all this time. ok, enough with the mushy stuff.

we started off the day in chelan with a beautiful lunch and champagne tasting at karma winery. the champagne is all bottled there and was to. die. for. the lunch was amazing too. after lunch, i treated myself to an hour long massage, followed by dinner and drinks at tin lilly {and of course we had to stop at senor frogs on the way home for some fireball shots}!

saturday we ventured 10 miles out of chelan to the imfamous blueberry hills restaurant and farm, where you can actually pick your own blueberries after breakfast! we sat outside and the view was amazing! the food was a total gut bomb, but delish none the less. we couldn't even manage to stuff a home-made blueberry muffin in our faces after because we were too full! we spent the rest of the afternoon on lounge chairs on our own dock facing the lake, drinking mimosas in a sippy cup and relaxing, which we don't treat ourselves to enough. that night we had dinner at the resort and it to our surprise it was delicious!

sunday was by far my favorite day and one i will never forget. i surprised wes with a seaplane ride {something that has always been on our bucket list} that took us to a waterfront winery for an hour long tasting. the ride over was amazing and the view at the winery was insane. afterwards, we had lunch and headed out to another winery that we over heard some tourists talking about. when we pulled up i had no idea what i was about to walk into. let me just say, this is what they call "god's country". it was GORGEOUS. it's an estate on a massive piece of property overlooking the lake and beautiful rolling hills and pastures. they had live music and the sun was shining so we bought a bottle of wine, sat outside and listened to music for hours. that night we ordered pizza and watched the sunset on our balcony. it was the most perfect day.

{had to start the day off with a bloody mary! yes, that a mini grilled cheese on top}

{seaplane waiting for us after the wine tasting}

{benson estate}

{we literally sat like this for hours}

{perfect ending to a perfect day}

have a fantastic weekend! i am ecstatic for football to start....GO HAWKS!
