annual friends trip.

every year, we met a group of friends in cali, arizona or somewhere warm in the spring {last spring it was AZ. you can read that post here}, and in the fall we connect in seattle. usually the seattle trip contains a car ride over the mountains to the bavarian town of leavenworth for oktobefest, but this year, we decided to switch it up and focus the trip around the seahawks who hosted monday night football in seattle.

this was the first seattle trip that didn't include a wedding, or hours spent in the car, so we actually had more time to explore the city {and eat...a lot}. october in seattle is one of the best months because we almost always experience an 'indian summer' with temps in the high 60's/low 70's, but chilly enough at night to require a jacket. this time around was no was clear and sunny for the entire 5 days they were here!

friday: we started the night with happy hour at daniel's broiler. our friend kyle, brought his girlfriend ashten, who we had never met but felt as if we already knew her from the amount of group texts and emails back and fourth about blogging {you can visit ashten's blog at just go left}. since ashten was a fellow blogger, we decided to host a little seattle blogger meet up where we got the chance to meet these other seattle bloggers from hello rigby, treasure tromp and sarah christine style! after HH, we met up with the boys and spent the rest of the night playing shuffle board and drinking copious amounts of fireball shots at the bravehorse tavern.

saturday: we started the day off at marination mai kai in west seattle to fuel up for the day. we love taking the water taxi over to the city, especially when it's a nice day! we ventured over and walked around the pier and eventually made our way to one of our favorites, rachel's ginger beer for some boozy floats {yes, it's a moscow mule, with any ginger beer flavor and a scoop of soft die for}! that night we had dinner at brass tacks in the up and coming neighborhood of georgetown {there is a ton of good food down there so we suggest going if you haven't been}.the night was topped off with bar hoping in fremont and dancing til our hearts content.

sunday: whenever we all get together the trip turns into a bit of a girls vs boys situation, so we thought what a better way than a girls brunch and shopping {and more drinks of course}. after a delicious brunch at portage bay cafe in south lake union, we took the streetcar downtown and hit up all our favorite shops and met up with the boys later for some dinner at the matador in west seattle. that night, we watched 'magic mike xxl' since we hadn't seen it yet, and if you haven't seen're not missing anything. we pretty much laughed the whole time only in disbelief of how bad it the last 5 minutes and that's all you need to know!

monday: this was the game so the entire day was spent at henry's hanging outside and pre-funking for the game. somehow everyone in the group managed to score tickets so we all got to go! some of which had never been to century link before and got to experience the '12's' for the very first time.

all in all, it was another amazing time with great friends who have us remembering that 'this is 30', but we would do it again in a heart beat.
