thanksgiving wear 2015.

this year, nicole and i are having a low-key thankgiving at my mom's house. since i am an only child and all my family resides in other states, we usually have a very small thanksgiving. last year, wes and i hosted for the first time in our new house, which was so fun, but a lot of work. this year, since nate has to work, nicole is going to join in on our small tradition, which i absolutely love. the best part being, we get to stay in our sweats all day, create our own menu, and retire to the couch while the food cooks in the oven. so we thought we would share some of our thanksgiving day comfies and must-haves.

thanksgiving comfies
comfy clothes, an ipad, cozy throw and our favorite cocktail are the perfect recipe for a great thanksgiving!

hope you all have a wonderful day whatever you may be doing. we are so thankful for you all and the joy that you bring us each and every day.

mock neck.

i am loving turtle necks and mock necks this season...there is something surprisingly fresh and fun about it. not to mention it really does keep you warm. this was the first time i had put on hosiery in quite some time and i don't know how i feel about it. i'm not sure if i'm more upset that it's too cold to bare my legs, or the fact that they are so dang white! either way, this dress is so darling, and under $40! and if you know anything about us, you know we love a good stripe ;)

the look for less - the suede skirt.

suede is everywhere this fall and we are especially loving it in the form of a skirt. it's all over the runways and the the whose who of hollywood are all putting their own spin on the trend. they are wearing it on the red carpet and on the streets.

we love that it comes in all different colors, shapes and lengths. and anyone can pull off this look and the best part, it comes in all price ranges!

some other ideas of what you can wear it with: denim shirt, chunky knit sweater, duster sweater, knee high boots or a floppy hat to really look like that a seventies babe that you are!

we can't all afford what the celebs are wearing so we put together some of our fav's for less! so you too can get in on the trend!

a couple weeks ago, nicole talked about the IT jacket, and this time i've found the ultimate version of this jacket: faux fur. it's literally like wearing a giant throw all day and i never want to take it off.

oh yeah-happy fri-yay loves. is it just me or did this weekend take FOREVA to get here!?

uniqlo launch party.

last thursday, we were invited to the vip pre-opening event of uniqlo in bellevue square mall. we didn't know much about the brand except that it was big in asia and they had quite a few stores in LA/NY, but had never really spent much time in the store. this is the first store in the state of washington so there was a lot of buzz around the grand opening. there were drinks, snacks, a live performance by the flavr blue {who were awesome by the way, check them out HERE} and a traditional japanese sake barrel ceremony! and best of all, jermaine kearse, wide receiver for the seahawks was there representing the line, so of course we had to take a pic and introduce ourselves.

ok, now onto the clothes. the store is very organized, bright and HUGE. we were really surprised by how big the space was. since we didn't know a ton about the brand, we weren't quite sure what to expect, but after walking in, we'd say it's a mix of h&m, american apparel and old navy. they have a lot of the same item but it several different colors. it's definitely more core pieces like lightweight jackets, sweaters, leggings, simple sweaters and shirts. i wouldn't say it's our favorite new store, but we did walk away with some great basics like a pair of burgundy jeggings and black joggers. shop more of our favs HERE.

 {barrels filled with sake! it was bomb!}

{filling our bag and testing out the mirrors...duh}
{jermaine kearse left with lots of goodies}

{flavr blue}
{we obviously had to take a picture with him ... mainly to make our husbands jealous!}
all in all, it was such a fun night and we were honored to have been invited! if you haven't been to the store, at least go by and check it out!

black. black. and more black.

{jacket / dress / shoes - sold out}

{bar necklace / layering necklaces}

three reasons why i love this dress.

1. its black
2. it has pockets
3. its the opposite of form fitting

i'm always down for an all black look, but this dress is the epitome of simple which is why it's so cool. and it's also no surprise that black is probably my favorite color, behind gold of course and welp i combined the too for this look. i love layering necklaces which suits this dress perfectly because that pop of gold really comes out against the black back drop.

searching for a new faux leather jacket? this is seriously THE BEST faux leather jacket. i have worn it so much that i need to buy a new one to replace it in order to freshen it up a bit. i particularly love this one for work because it has more of the structured look instead of my usual moto style which is better to dress things up.

happy monday!

long tunic.

when it comes to getting dressed in the morning, i always go with the 3 piece rule. meaning, it's a bottom, layering tank and jacket OR a dress, jacket and hat {you get the idea}.  that being said, i am loving long tunics because they layer perfectly and can be worn with any type of pant or legging underneath. and when i really don't feel like washing my hair, the half bun is my go to, and oh so effortless and cool.
